About Is Kansas city a travel destination

Is Kansas city a travel destination?
Other than "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," what is the city famous for? Any scenic attractions? Are there many tourists from overseas? I often hear the name, but (no offence) honestly nothing comes to mind. Is it really a famous city?

Answer 1 :
It is a fun place to go, and there are things to do: the plaza, the power & light district, several museums and amusement parks to choose from....and world-famous BBQ [ever heard of KC Masterpiece?]. If you want to have a good time in KC, you easily could. If you were determined not to, well, then, you obviously wouldn't.
Answer 2 :
The Wizard of Oz wasn't from Kansas City it was from some random small town in Kansas. Kansas City, MO has a wonderful Plaza with shopping, dining, and movies, this is where a lot of people go. There is also a very big Theme park called Worlds of Fun and it has quite a few good rides like the Mamba, Patriot, Prowler, Boomerang, and many more, roller coasters. I don't see very international tourists because it's the middle of the country
Answer 3 :
If you're passing through the area, it has a few things to see and do that the other answerers have mentioned. Otherwise, you probably shouldn't go out of your way to come here.

Answer 1 :
Sit down with a map and plan your route and determine how many miles you will have to drive. Then figure out what kind of fuel mileage (MPG) your car gets. Divide the total trip distance by your car's MPG, and that's how much gas you will need for the trip. Multiply the total gallons by $3.00, and you will have a good estimate of what you will have to spend for gasoline on the trip. Good luck and drive safe!
Answer 2 :
It is a 3500 mile drive with 60 hours driving time at 20 miles per gallon it would take 175 gallons of gas at $3.00 per gallon that comes to a total of $525.00 for Gas for the trip. 25MPG at $2.50 a gallon would be $350.00 for 140 gallons of gas.

About What is an affordable place to travel from Kansas City

What is an affordable place to travel from Kansas City?
My boyfriend is afraid of flying so I'd like to drive. I'd prefer somewhere with an 8 hour drive or less. We live in Kansas City and we like obscure places as well as big cities.

About most affordable way to travel between Kansas City and Ft. Myers, 2 times a week

most affordable way to travel between Kansas City and Ft. Myers, 2 times a week?
I'm considering accepting a great consulting opportunity; however I will need to travel between Kansas City and Ft. Myers Florida twice a week. I'm excited about the project and it could last 10 weeks to several months. I need to figure out the best option for flying between Kansas City (home) and Ft. Myers (the project). My first thought is Southwest Airlines and just booking as far in advance as I can to reduce the fare. Any better suggestions are welcome.

Answer 1 :
you can search and compare the cheapest airline tickets and airfares online within one website, and grab the best deal ever. http://www.finddirtcheapairlinetickets.com
Answer 2 :
I would imagine that Southwest Airlines would be your best bet, and their frequent flier program is fantastic, especially for truly frequent travelers. a great aggregate website that will list airfares for most of the major airlines is kayak.com. Southwest is not listed on there, however.
Answer 3 :
swa.com
Answer 4 :
I would go with Delta as they have the least amount of layover times Between connecting flights at the Atlanta hub and the Airplanes seem more comfortable.
