Answer 1 :
i went from alb nm to LA and from LA to auckland nz, then from auckland to sydney....alb-la- 1.5 hours, LA-Auckland ~13 hours. Auckland-sydney- 3 hours. id add another hour on to yours because its about a 2.5 hour flight from mo to ca.
Answer 2 :
Are you flying non-stop from Kansas City? If you stop total travel time will be about 25 hrs. You have to allow 4 hrs to get to California which will most likely be a stop you make before heading to Australia. From LA or San Fran whichever you leave out of will take about 14hrs to get to Syndney

What is the best airline to travel on thats going from LAX to Kansas City? I'm 17 and don't have much money so?
I want to go visit my siblings for spring break. They live in Kansas and I have saved up money. How much can I get a round trip for, for the cheapest price possible?"

Answer 1 :
You should be able to get a round trip for about $220 at the cheapest. I don't know what your exact dates are but go to www.orbitz.com and you can compare the prices of all the different airlines. Then I would go to the website of the airline which is the cheapest and check on there because sometimes it is even cheaper.
Answer 2 :
http://www.southwest.com/cgi-bin/showItinerary Check that link. I found flights that leave on March 27-friday that are $84 one way to MCI (Kansas City airport) And return flights for $ 84 on April 4th So, about $168 plus all taxes and fees. Southwest airlines
Answer 3 :
No problem... I can definitely help you. I work in the travel industry, and I always refer my clients and my friends to the website BookMe. You can compare prices on all the major travel websites and save lots of money. Good luck, and check out the link below

What is it like living there, lifestyle, things to do for tourist etc....

Answer 1 :
Kansas City? Try going somewhere that isn't in the middle of nowhere where if you blink you actually DON'T miss it.....like Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, lots to do there.....
Answer 2 :
bar b que, Gates is my favorate, or try your luck, jazz, the plaza. are all must dos. If you like new York style, try Seven, resturant and club
Answer 3 :
It isn't really all that bad living here. There are things to do. The worst thing about Kansas City is that all the good fun stuff there is to do is soooo spread out! Like some cool stuff to do is Worlds and Oceans of fun, The Legends Of Village West, The KC Zoo, The Plaza, Westport, Crown Center, Downtown and many other things but if you would mapquest these things...most of them are miles apart from each other and our freaking airport is way out of the way from anything...I like cities like St.Louis everything is close!
Answer 4 :
Join the Navy and see the world!
Answer 5 :
KC is a medium-sized city in the Midwest. It has no mountains and no beaches. It's not as diverse as some of the coastal cities, but it's also a bit more comforting and charming. You'll find some of the nicest people in the area of the country. It's not so large as to make people feel they have a license to act like a prick--like Philadelphia, New York and Los Angeles. We don't have as many cultural attractions as some of the bigger cities, but it's nice enough.
Answer 6 :
well i've been living here for a while and sometimes it's really really fun, and sometimes it SUCKS. there are pros and cons... pros being that we get 4 seasons, good schools (except for kcmo public schools =/), somewhat good shopping centers...[the plaza, zona rosa, oak park, etc...), you can pretty much fly anywhere in a somewhat short amount of time, personally i think its a really really good place to grow up, but after high school... im out. cons would be your in the middle of no where. no beaches, no mountains, stuck up people, racially divided, typical soccer moms and business dads. not really a diverse area. but tourist wise im sure it would be fun to visit for a day. theres the zoo, starlight theatre, really good barbeque, nelson atkins muesem of art, union station, science city... plenty of historic sites, civil war grounds. the list goes on but i'm sure people would have more fun visiting here then living here. thats my honest opinion of kansas city missouri. sorry if it offends anyone

About Best travel route from Kansas City to Anchorage Alaska

Best travel route from Kansas City to Anchorage Alaska?
Should I fly North and then rent a car for the rest of the way? Mapquest says its a 70 hour trip by car, not really good. Has anyone made this trip? Suggestions welcome.

Answer 1 :
To fly roundtrip costs $600-800 and takes 8-11 hours depending on your preference. To drive 7025 miles takes 117 hours (15 days) and costs $3512 if you use the standard mileage rate or a bare minimum of $927 for just gas at $3.30 a gallon plus the cost of a motel if you stay in one. I can not imagine someone choosing to drive considering these factors.
Answer 2 :
It is more cost effective to fly vs drive. But, if you drive, you have 2 options. You can drive to Anchorage all the way. Another option is taking the Alaska Marine Highway. You can catch the ferry in Bellingham, Washington and take it up the inside passage (pretty much the same route as the cruise ships) to Haines, and then drive the rest of the way. Another option is they're now setting it up where you catch the ferry in Ketchikan (my hometown) or Juneau (i think) and then taking you up almost all the way to Anchorage. You'll end up getting in port about a 3 hour drive from Anchorage. It's a way to learn a lot about Alaskans, and the crazy bunch we are, plus relax and see some of the flora and fauna. It depends on if the financial aspect is the main focus, or the experience along the way is. Good luck!!!!!! And here is the link to the ferry. http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/index.html

How long would it take a train to travel from St Louis to Kansas City in the late 1800's?
Note I am talking about train travel in the early west, not the present.

People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Which decade in the late 1800's are you talking about? Steam locomotives in the early west were laughed at..and in one famous demonstration in about 1840 or so, a horse beat a steam locomotive in a race. But as the "decades" went by, the technology improved and the trains got faster. So a steam locomotive in the 1890's was a lot more powerful and faster than the one back in 1860's or 1870's , for instance. The average speed for steam locomotive in the late 1800's probably was around 25-30 mph +/- 10mph.(I'm guessing) Kansas city is about 250 miles away from St.Louis. So the trip should take about 8-10 hours. That's non-stop. Back in the day, trains make a lot of stops. That make the trip a lot longer

About How do I find a list of African American Travel Agents in Kansas City

How do I find a list of African American Travel Agents in Kansas City?
Look, I don't need your opinion on why I'm asking for the information. Either you know or you don't. If you don't then keep your comments to yourself and keep it moving.

Answer 1 :
Does it really matter what race they are? I doubt you'll be able to search for travel agents based on race.
Answer 2 :
The Chamber of Commerce should be able to tell you if the business is minority owned. Why does it need to be an African American Travel Agent? That sounds a bit racist.
Answer 3 :
You sound a little prejudiced there Bro. What's wrong with just asking about a good well qualified TA?? It does appear the most blacks prefer using other blacks for business. Glad I don't stick to my own race when doing business. Let's be color free and move out of that mind set ok? Be open minded, it's 2007, not 1964. I deal with all races and treat everyone equally. Try it, you'll be glad you did!
Answer 4 :
I can understand you wanting to help out a fellow businessman of color and it's not racist at all...however I belive it might be hard to find out who is black and who isn't.
Answer 5 :
Just google Black Chamber of Commerce Kansas or Missouri or Black Entrepreneur Kansas or Missouri. Side note...Why do people think you're a racist when you support your own?
Answer 6 :
Try the local Chamber of Commerce. They may be able to help you. Another way would be to find a local church that has African American members and see if they can recommend who they use.
Answer 7 :
The Chamber of Commerce should be able to help you. But why is it that you are called racist because you want to patronize a black business? I don't get it people. Other races patronize their own all the time, and are not called racist. Get a grip people. Keeping the black dollar in the black community allows for the community to thrive and grow

About Is Kansas city a travel destination

Is Kansas city a travel destination?
Other than "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," what is the city famous for? Any scenic attractions? Are there many tourists from overseas? I often hear the name, but (no offence) honestly nothing comes to mind. Is it really a famous city?
Kansas City - 3 Answers

Answer 1 :
It is a fun place to go, and there are things to do: the plaza, the power & light district, several museums and amusement parks to choose from....and world-famous BBQ [ever heard of KC Masterpiece?]. If you want to have a good time in KC, you easily could. If you were determined not to, well, then, you obviously wouldn't.
Answer 2 :
The Wizard of Oz wasn't from Kansas City it was from some random small town in Kansas. Kansas City, MO has a wonderful Plaza with shopping, dining, and movies, this is where a lot of people go. There is also a very big Theme park called Worlds of Fun and it has quite a few good rides like the Mamba, Patriot, Prowler, Boomerang, and many more, roller coasters. I don't see very international tourists because it's the middle of the country
Answer 3 :
If you're passing through the area, it has a few things to see and do that the other answerers have mentioned. Otherwise, you probably shouldn't go out of your way to come here.

Answer 1 :
Sit down with a map and plan your route and determine how many miles you will have to drive. Then figure out what kind of fuel mileage (MPG) your car gets. Divide the total trip distance by your car's MPG, and that's how much gas you will need for the trip. Multiply the total gallons by $3.00, and you will have a good estimate of what you will have to spend for gasoline on the trip. Good luck and drive safe!
Answer 2 :
It is a 3500 mile drive with 60 hours driving time at 20 miles per gallon it would take 175 gallons of gas at $3.00 per gallon that comes to a total of $525.00 for Gas for the trip. 25MPG at $2.50 a gallon would be $350.00 for 140 gallons of gas.

About most affordable way to travel between Kansas City and Ft. Myers, 2 times a week

most affordable way to travel between Kansas City and Ft. Myers, 2 times a week?
I'm considering accepting a great consulting opportunity; however I will need to travel between Kansas City and Ft. Myers Florida twice a week. I'm excited about the project and it could last 10 weeks to several months. I need to figure out the best option for flying between Kansas City (home) and Ft. Myers (the project). My first thought is Southwest Airlines and just booking as far in advance as I can to reduce the fare. Any better suggestions are welcome.

Answer 1 :
you can search and compare the cheapest airline tickets and airfares online within one website, and grab the best deal ever. http://www.finddirtcheapairlinetickets.com
Answer 2 :
I would imagine that Southwest Airlines would be your best bet, and their frequent flier program is fantastic, especially for truly frequent travelers. a great aggregate website that will list airfares for most of the major airlines is kayak.com. Southwest is not listed on there, however.
Answer 3 :
swa.com
Answer 4 :
I would go with Delta as they have the least amount of layover times Between connecting flights at the Atlanta hub and the Airplanes seem more comfortable.
